While looking for possible innovations for online learning that would be suitable for this week's assignment, I came across this presentation on YouTube...of all places. Not only was I surprised at where I landed, but I was surprised at the way my interest was captured during the video. I believe this is the beginning of the way future students will learn...at a distance, sometime, but connected always.

Teresa,
Blackboard apparently offers professor many options. Over the summer I took an online course using blackboard and I found the environment to be user friendly.
Terry,
Thank you for the video link. We use Blackboard at UNCG, so I'm familiar with it. But they did mention several ways Blackboard is used at Cincinnati that I found interesting. I am involved only in distance learning, so I do not know the extent to which it is used in on-campus f2f classes, but I do not think that we have a student controlled portal. That really sounded like a good idea that seemed to serve as a way to make students feel vested not just in courses, but in the university itself as it makes it easy to register input. I also found it interesting that he mentioned that student activity in courses increased.
